Our Nature Minds Team

Ruthie

Ruthie

As General Manager of Home4All I am excited to introduce the Nature Minds Programme into our space. From the success of the Pilot Programme it has been thrilling to be part of developing the projects and learning bites which will benefit the next intake.

Putting my hospitality lens over brain health enables me to see the person, not the patient. Together we will explore and discover garden techniques which engage us physically and mentally.
My people-person personality supports a non-judgmental environment allowing for trusted friendships to develop. All of this Outdoor Purposeful Activity Together is what makes it worthwhile.

Home4All - A Green Care Farm

Home4All is a green care farm situated on the beautiful Kāpiti Coast of New Zealand’s North Island. Set in a relaxed, home-like rural environment, Home4All offers people the opportunity to stay active, connected and involved in meaningful everyday life.

The Home4All approach is built around purpose, participation and belonging. Rather than simply attending a day programme, people are encouraged to become part of the life of the farm — spending time outdoors, gardening, caring for animals, preparing food, contributing to practical projects, sharing meals and working alongside others. These everyday activities provide opportunities for movement, social connection, decision-making, problem-solving and cognitive stimulation, while helping people maintain confidence, independence and a sense that what they do still matters.

For families and carers, Home4All also provides reassurance and valuable respite, knowing that their family member is spending the day in a supportive environment where they are encouraged to participate, contribute and enjoy the company of others.

Rather than relying on passive or purely recreational activities, Nature Minds participants take part in practical tasks, shared projects, problem-solving, food preparation and everyday decision-making. The aim is to create positive, stimulating experiences that support brain health while also strengthening confidence, connection and a sense of purpose.

At its heart, Home4All is about creating a place where people are not defined by what they may find difficult, but by what they can still do, enjoy, contribute and share with others.
